Soumya Sankar Bose is a multi-award-winning Indian documentary photographer and visual artist based in Kolkata, India. Born in 1990 in Midnapore, West Bengal, Bose's work delves into the exploration of desire, identity, and memory through a blend of photography, archival materials, and text. His recent exhibition, "Braiding dusk and dawn" at the Delfina Foundation in London, centers on his family's history during the political crises in West Bengal in the 1960s and 1970s, offering a poignant look into overlooked historical narratives through oral archives and visual documentation. Bose's work has been recognized internationally, with recent honors including a prestigious ceremony in Dubai. Beyond his artistic pursuits, Bose is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
