The Choir of Southwark Cathedral is a renowned choral ensemble based in the heart of London, offering a rich tapestry of musical experiences. Comprising boys and girls aged 8 to 13 and eight professional Lay Clerks, the Cathedral Choir is celebrated for its regular choral services that resonate throughout the week, touching the lives of South Londoners and beyond. In addition to the Cathedral Choir, the Merbecke Choir, named after the English theological writer John Merbecke, is a dynamic group of around 25-30 singers, primarily in their twenties, who perform a diverse range of music with exceptional skill. This amateur chamber choir, unique to a London cathedral, provides a continuation of musical excellence for ex-cathedral choristers. The choir's repertoire spans various genres, ensuring a captivating and enriching experience for all who listen.
