The Choir of St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, is one of the world's oldest and most prestigious choirs, with a history dating back to 1348. Nestled within the historic walls of Windsor Castle, this renowned ensemble has been a staple of the chapel's daily services, with only a brief hiatus during the Commonwealth period (1649–1660). Comprising up to 23 choristers and twelve Lay Clerks, the choir is celebrated for its rich, resonant sound and diverse repertoire, spanning centuries of musical tradition. The choristers, aged between eight and thirteen, are educated at St George's School within the castle grounds, while the Lay Clerks reside nearby, ensuring a deep connection to the chapel and its musical heritage. Under the direction of its esteemed Director of Music, the choir continues to captivate audiences with its angelic voices and masterful performances, making it a must-experience for classical music enthusiasts. In 2023, the choir made history by welcoming girls to sing alongside the boys, further enriching its musical tapestry.
