Thomas Indermühle

Thomas Indermühle is a renowned Swiss oboist, musician, and educator, celebrated for his exceptional melodic sensibility and masterful breath control. Born in Bern in 1951 into a family of musicians, Indermühle honed his skills under the tutelage of Heinz Holliger and Maurice Bourgue, leading him to solo positions with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. His career is marked by numerous accolades, including winning the Prague Spring Festival competition in 1974. Indermühle's extensive repertoire spans from Baroque masters like Vivaldi and Bach to contemporary composers, showcasing his versatility and technical prowess. Beyond his performing career, he has significantly impacted the next generation of oboists as a professor at the Zürich Conservatoire and the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe, and as the artistic director of the Oboe Festival Palma.
