Yuri Honing is a celebrated Dutch saxophonist and composer who has been a cornerstone of the Dutch music scene for over three decades. Known for his genre-blending prowess and rockstar aura, Honing has collaborated with eminent musicians like Paul Bley, Charlie Haden, and Craig Taborn. In 2009, he formed the Yuri Honing Acoustic Quartet, with whom he has released acclaimed albums such as "True" (2012), "Desire" (2016), and "Goldbrun" (2020). "Goldbrun" is a spiritual jazz album inspired by John Coltrane's "A Love Supreme," showcasing Honing's deep musicality and innovative spirit. Following the global pandemic, Honing envisioned The Peace Orchestra as a musical response to the world's need for connection and inspiration. His music is a testament to his ability to capture profound emotions and take listeners on a journey through his unique soundscapes.
