Katrin Frauchiger, born into a musical family in Bern, Switzerland, is a renowned singer and composer whose work transcends traditional boundaries. With a solid foundation in both classical and contemporary music, she studied voice under Jakob Stämpfli and Dorothea Brinkmann, earning a Soloist Diploma with distinction, and composition with Michael Jarrell. Her compositions have been performed across Europe, the USA, Argentina, and China, including a notable premiere at the Lucerne Festival in 2010.

Frauchiger's artistic journey is marked by her interdisciplinary approach, collaborating on projects that span jazz, film, theater, and dance. Her work has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Pro Arte Foundation prize in 2002 and the Anerkennungspreis from the canton of Bern in 2007. Beyond her creative pursuits, Frauchiger is actively involved in cultural politics and arts education, serving on the board of Sonart and teaching at the Musikhochschule Luzern.

Her album "Vom Sprengen des Gartens," released in 2018, showcased her unique voice in contemporary songwriting, garnering critical acclaim. Frauchiger's latest composition, "Irrlicht in Blau," was premiered at the Musikfestival Bern, further cementing her status as a dynamic and innovative force in the music world.
