Mats Bergström

Mats Bergström is a renowned Swedish guitarist and composer, celebrated for his mastery of chamber music and his innovative approach to the guitar. Born in Gävle, Sweden, Bergström's musical journey began with a Master of Fine Arts from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, followed by post-graduate studies at the prestigious Juilliard School. His debut at London's Wigmore Hall in 1983 marked the start of a prolific career as a soloist, accompanist, and ensemble player.

Bergström's discography is extensive, featuring a diverse range of genres from minimalism to Swedish ballads. His 4-CD box set, containing 78 tracks, showcases his versatility and depth as an artist. Beyond his solo work, Bergström has collaborated with numerous renowned singers and orchestras, earning him several prestigious awards, including the Litteris et Artibus medal from King Carl XVI Gustaf.
