The Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, now known as the SWR Symphony Orchestra, is a renowned German radio orchestra with a rich history and a vibrant present. Based in Stuttgart, this ensemble is one of the state's most significant musical ambassadors, performing approximately 80 concerts annually in Stuttgart, across the SWR broadcast area, and in major musical centers both in Germany and internationally. The orchestra's repertoire spans symphonic literature from various eras, embracing both traditional and historically informed performance practices.

Founded in 1945 as the Kleines Symphonie-Orchester Stuttgart, the orchestra underwent several name changes before becoming the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra in 1975. In 2016, it merged with the SWR Symphony Orchestra Baden-Baden and Freiburg, forming the current SWR Symphony Orchestra. Under the leadership of conductor Stéphane Denève and with a dynamic team including orchestra manager Sabrina Haane and artistic planning director Henning Bey, the ensemble continues to captivate audiences with its compelling performances.
