Thomanerchor Leipzig

The Thomanerchor Leipzig is a renowned boys' choir with a rich history dating back over 800 years, making it the oldest cultural institution in the city of Leipzig, Germany. Founded in 1212, this esteemed choir comprises about 90 boys aged 9 to 18, who reside in a boarding school and attend the St. Thomas School, known for its linguistic and musical education. The Thomanerchor Leipzig is particularly famous for its association with Johann Sebastian Bach, who served as the Thomaskantor, directing the choir and church music from 1723 to 1750.
