Vasily Petrenko

Vasily Petrenko is a celebrated Russian conductor, currently serving as the Music Director of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra since 2021. Born in St. Petersburg in 1976, Petrenko began his musical journey at the prestigious St. Petersburg Capella Boys Music School. He made his conducting debut with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in 2004 and has since become one of the orchestra's longest-serving conductors, earning the title of Conductor Laureate.
