The Parley of Instruments

The Parley of Instruments is a pioneering early music ensemble based in London, founded in 1979 by the visionary duo of Peter Holman and violinist Roy Goodman. Named after the historic concerts organized by violinist John Banister in 1676, this group is renowned for its deep dive into the rich repertoire of Renaissance and Baroque string consort music. Under the baton of its co-founders, The Parley of Instruments has not only revived forgotten musical treasures but also blazed trails with groundbreaking recordings, notably the Hyperion English Orpheus series, which has significantly contributed to the understanding and appreciation of English eighteenth-century music.
